What I do:

As a therapist I am focused on centering diversity and divergence within mental health. This means that I will integrate the cultural beliefs, values and practices that are important and beneficial to you into our therapeutic work. I am also mindful of the correlation between neurodiversity, gender and/or sexual diversity. As a neurodiverse person, I am always seeking to engage with and learn more about the needs of neurodiverse people within counseling.

I believe that we are all relational creatures, and thus cannot exist in a bubble. How we relate to ourselves and others matter. It is my job to make sure that therapy is a secure space for you to explore relationships, whether it be with oneself or others.

My work is grounded in somatic psychotherapy, attachment, mindfulness, existential psychotherapy and interpersonal neurobiology. Somatic therapy focuses on the body, how feelings show up and are processed through the body, and how we can reconnect the mind with the body to the benefit of our well-being. Attachment focuses on how we relate to others and ourselves across our lifespan. We may explore how past relationships inform present relationships. Mindfulness draws primarily from eastern philosophy as it was introduced to western psychology through Buddhism. Through mindfulness we focus on conscious and compassionate awareness of the self and the present moment even when we are in turmoil. Through existentialism we may explore themes such as death, loneliness, loss and meaning making. Interpersonal neurobiology investigates the importance of human development across the lifespan and the transfer of energy and information between and within our nervous systems.

Through these techniques I hope to help you weave and untangle the stories of who you were, who you are and who you wish to become.

Who I am:

I am a queer, Black, neurodivergent (ADHD+), nonbinary and second generation immigrant person. I am constantly re-evaluating my own relationship to myself, others and society.

I received my MA in Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling and my BA in the field of neurobiology from the University of Pennsylvania.

I have worked with queer and transgender clients in both outpatient mental health as well as in crisis residential services. Additionally, I chose to specialize my graduate education on LGBTQ+ needs and experiences within counseling.

When I'm not helping others, I enjoy spending my time gardening, making clothes, breaking fashion rules, and wrangling my 4 fur kids, Otter, Keister, Loki and Omen.
